Chick-Fil-A Leader Academy

The Chick-Fil-A Leader Academy is a partnership between Brandon Mulkey, Owner/Operator of Chick-Fil-A at 69th & Slide and 82nd & Milwaukee, Frenship High School, and Frenship ISD. 30 students are nominated by their coaches, teachers, and club sponsors to participate in a year-long program focused on the development of servant leadership. But beyond leadership training, students experience Impact Through Action. They take part in three focused service opportunities: The Big Give, Do Good December, and their Impact Project.

The Big Give
Students are provided the time and materials and take on a service project together. In 2019 this was filling care packages to be sent to deployed troops and writing thank you cards to them as well. Students were also given Chick-Fil-A gift cards to give to two people in their life that have made an impact on them, to intentionally take a moment in person to say thank you.

Do Good December
Students break into three teams and identify different projects to take on. They are responsible for identifying the need they want to fill, the group they want to serve, the scope of their projects, and to secure the materials they'll need. In 2019 two groups teamed up to throw a dinner for the custodians of Frenship High School and the Frenship Ninth Grade Center. Students decorated, provided candy and gifts to go along with Chick-Fil-A dinner, they transformed the Student Center and also gave a heartfelt thanks along with stockings full of goodies.

Impact Project
This is the capstone project. Students identify a need to fill in a big way and work to meet that need. In 2018 they threw an 80s Throwback Prom for the staff and faculty of Frenship ISD. They decorated the PE Gym, hired a DJ, built a photo booth, and planned lip sync battles, all to say thanks to those that were responsible for educating them through their time at Frenship. Students are working diligently on an exciting project for 2019!
