I am going on vacation. Can I work ahead of schedule?
Yes! Students are encouraged to work ahead and can work ahead as far as they would like. If you will be out of town, please PLAN AHEAD and get all your worked turned in early. Late work is not accepted. Please note that work will still be graded when the assignment is due (not graded early).
I will be out of town the day of the final. Can I still take the course?
Students who know in ADVANCE, they will be gone on the day of the final, must make arrangements with the teacher before the first day of class. We will be able to let you know before you pay for the course whether we can make special accommodations. It is expected the majority of students will attend the final on the assigned day.
What if I get stuck or don’t understand something?
This is an accelerated course for self-driven learners. While the teacher will always be available to help you with questions, we value students who can use online videos, tutorials and self-guided directions to solve problems and complete assignments independently. Teachers have provided a number of embedded supports within the course to help you with directions and ensure you can be successful. Before you email a teacher with a question, we ask that you try to figure it out yourself. If you still don’t understand, then please reach out for help anytime you need it!
Is there REALLY 3 hours of homework a day?
Yes and no. Some of the units (especially the first week) are much easier and go by quickly. Some students can catch on and complete assignments in well under 3 hours. Some students need additional time and support. We have found that around 12-15 hours of homework a week is the average for the class.
Will this class count in my GPA?
YES. The grade you receive for this course, will affect your grade point average, and be listed on your high school transcript. This course is not weighted and is a requirement for all Frenship ISD students.
