Frenship Girls Track and Field Named Division III Champions at San Angelo Relay

Persistency, tenacity, and energy were all key components to the San Angelo Relays as the Frenship Track and Field Teams competed against the toughest competition yet.

The Varsity Girls came in 1st place in Division III with 105 points. The Varsity Boys came in 5th place in Division 1 with 51.75 points. Girls Track Coach Stefani Shortes could not be more proud of how the team competed.

“We were very proud of how the girls competed in the San Angelo Relays,” said Coach Shortes. “There were some very competitive schools there like Northwest Justin and Round Rock that we don’t ever get to see and then several schools that we will see at the Area meet.”

A few of the major highlights for Varsity Girls include Devin Moore coming in 1st place in the 400M. Moore also anchored the 4x4 relay team that won silver. Timber Bennett with two second place medals for pole vault and 100 hurdles. Brinkley Coker was in 2nd place in the triple jump. Reagan Roberts and Meredith McSween both medaled in the discus and the 100M hurdles.

A major individual highlight for the Varsity Boys Team includes Greyson Pelsor coming in 1st place in shot put with an impressive throw of 52’7”.

“We also won our division in the 4x200 relay; with a time of 1:27.61. Those team members are Kayson Thomas, Tate Higgins, Colby Nations, and Aden Soto,” said Boys Track Coach Chris Fanelli.
