Frenship High School HOSA Competes at State Competition

HOSA is a global student-led organization open to anyone interested in healthcare careers and recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Department of Health and Human Services. HOSA’s mission is to empower HOSA-Future Health Professionals to become leaders in the global health community, through education, collaboration, and experience.

Melissa Rose, the HOSA advisor at Frenship High School, stated that the State HOSA Competition this year was truly inspiring.

“Our students demonstrated exceptional knowledge, skill, and professionalism, showcasing their dedication to healthcare and their commitment to excellence. I am incredibly proud of each and every student who competed at State. Their hard work, perseverance, and passion for healthcare have been truly remarkable to witness,” said Rose.

At the competition, four of the nine Frenship students were able to place in their events. Whitney Olokede placed top 20 for Clinical Specialty, Hayley Anselm placed top 20 for Health Career Photography, and Ryan Luong and Sanya Fuambu placed top 10 in state in the Certified Emergency Response Team competition.

Rose stated the State HOSA Competition was a transformative experience for the students.

“It has not only challenged them to push their limits and strive for excellence but has also provided them with valuable opportunities for learning, networking, and personal growth. I am so proud of everything they have accomplished, and I cannot wait to see where their passion for healthcare takes them in the future,” said Rose.

Congratulations, Tigers!
