The Auto-Tech program at FHS operates a business within their program. Diagnosis, quotes, repairs, writing tickets, and payments are all handled by student technicians under the supervision of Mr. Dana Vinson. The labor rate is $5 an hour and all are welcome. They may take a little more time than the shop down the street, but the service and savings can't be beat!

Whenever we finished up getting a lot of lab work out of the way and start to move into live vehicles, we want to start to go ahead and expose to the actual professional environment that is going to be encountered after they graduate high school. He can use this program to prepare guys that want to be on a vocational and especially in the automotive industry is that I don't have to have a college education to make a good living but you still have to know what you're doing. So not only do they come out and being what is a job-ready technician for an entry-level technical position, but later on they can also use the experience that they gained from the customer service side of things and also also learning the business aspect of it to where they can run their own shop. This is where it is, this is the backbone of our nation is manual labor. You have to have the people that are willing to do that work but in order for them to do that work they have to understand it. There has to be some sort of formal education to lay the groundwork if you're going to have any any kind of success later in life.
