National program the Chick-fil-A develop with a company called Aldo that's a non-profit it's just focused on changing the world and so Brandon mokita owner-operator of the 82nd p and 69th and slide Chick-fil-A came to us he hires a lot of friendship students and they said hey we want to give back we want to do something cool at friendship until we've started this program a couple of years ago they support the program they pay for it with a chip to Chick-fil-A organization and then leader Academy as its own organization since it's all the supplies the shirts all that kind of stuff and provides us with the program itself play that sax lyrics I'm a way to get students more involved and try to learn some leadership qualities that they can bring into other organizations and other parts of the school just in case they can leave a positive impact and kind of growing their own ways as well you know it's really good to train them to be better leaders but within that Chick-fil-A model of service so very servant-leader oriented maybe for different service projects throughout the year that they plan themselves kind of starting a really small one that we provide all the materials for them and then as they go along they take more responsibility and what they're working on now is their impact project which will be a big wide-reaching project the bill that they'll execute in April or May maybe Monday we have to plan on a project that we need to do for the community what we want to do for the community you help people and not certain type of people but we want to really help special-needs kids because we feel like they're really not giving the attention that they need and we want to do that but we also want to include the family and not special needs families but old families just to like get together for their kids and parents the barn and everything so we're planning on making a project for that address a joint session of Congress didn't actually nominated for it we were we didn't know what it was until we first got here but teachers already nominated us and it was just like based off of students that they think would be in bed and stepping out and being able to like connect with the other students in Kent to bring the school together at the way to just like grow sorry, so each month we go through a leader lab which is some video based curriculum and then discussion is a group and a lot of it is just focus on those basic important skills of leadership servant leadership communication teamwork go through some different activities I mean not to be vague about it it just depends on on the day that they're that they're a part of it a lot of it is just a matter of them kind of getting in and getting their hands dirty experiencing some high-level stories whether it's for a president or a world leader or someone importance of world in there in that specific type of leadership and then we try to connect that to what they're working on which are their service projects and give them those skills the whole idea of this thing from the beginning was to bring in sophomores and juniors from Club. Campus Pizza to be better leaders and let them take that out to their organizations and let that new leadership training filter out through Frenship High School Smashburger charger from this Academy so far I really learned like how to communicate better with other people and be able to just share ideas and try to do something that's going to positively impact everybody else in like learning how to work with the other people and bringing our departing station the kids were all from different parts of the school and I being able to come together and just do good for other people has been really great that's a great opportunity if you could be a part of this and this is amazing experience and I'm glad to be a part of this server because I this is going to help me in my future life and that whatever I do that I'm always going to look back at some of the stuff that I learned over here and definitely apply to my life strausser
