Shawn was born and raised in Dallas and moved to Lubbock to attend Texas Tech University, where he studied business administration. He later attended Wayland Baptist University, earning a master’s degree in business. Shawn currently owns an insurance agency and a real estate investment company.
He and his wife, Melaney, were married in 2007 and have four sons: Kameron, Karson, Maddox, and Mason. All four boys are Frenship Tigers. Melaney has spent 21 years in education, with the past 17 years at Oak Ridge Elementary.
Shawn is the former president of Big Brothers Big Sisters, where he served for eight years. He has served on multiple boards within the Lubbock community, including Lubbock Catholic Charities and the City of Wolfforth Charter Commission. He currently serves on the Frenship Foundation for Leadership board. Shawn received the Volunteer of the Year award for United Way in 2017 and continues to give back to the community whenever possible.
Shawn’s interests include sports, fishing, and traveling. He and his family attend Church on the Rock, where he and Melaney enjoy serving in the Children’s Ministry.
