Dr. Michelle McCord Presents at Leadership Conference

Dr. Michelle McCord, Frenship ISD Superintendent, spoke at the LCU Women in Leadership Conference last week. The audience consisted of women and girls from various walks of life in the Lubbock community, including more than 30 Frenship students who came to hear her message.

McCord shared her journey of becoming the leader of the district and how she aspired to be in a seat of influence for those who the world had wounded. Her presentation titled “Answering the Call” described the purpose of her life and how she was led to education and helping those around her.

She encouraged the audience “not to consider what they wanted to be when they grew up, but who they wanted to become.”

Other presenters at the conference included Tonya Carruthers, Human Resources Professional, Dr. Amy Nel Thompson, CEO/CMO, Covenant Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Kathrine Lee, CEO, Pure Hope Foundation and Holly Betenbough, Board Member, Betenbough Companies.
