Texas Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Richard Dean, Executive Director of Administrative Services for Frenship ISD, to the Texas Juvenile Justice Advisory Board. The board advises the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division on programs and preventative solutions and submits recommendations regarding federal compliance issues and federal grant disbursements.

“I’m honored to serve in this capacity and represent Texas, as well as Frenship ISD,” said Dean. “I look forward to working alongside my distinguished colleagues to help produce positive outcomes for youth, their families and communities.”

Dean is a founding member of the Texas Juvenile Justice Association and former president of the Texas Juvenile Detention Association and served on the Criminal Justice Advisory Committee to the South Palins Association of Governments. Currently, he is a member of the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals, Texas Association of School Business Officials and the Texas Association of School Administrators.

Dean joined Frenship in 2007 as the Disciplinary Alternative Education Program Coordinator at the Reese Education Center. In 2010, he was promoted to the Dean of Student Discipline at Reese where he stayed for a year before moving to Frenship Middle School as the Assistant Principal. He moved to his first position at the Casey Administration Building in 2015 as the Director of Student Services.

Dean received a Bachelor of Business Administration in management from Texas Tech University, a Master’s in Education from Wayland Baptist University, and a principal certification from Lubbock Christian University.
