Celebrating Family at Crestview Elementary

By Haley Beardemphl

Grandparents Day
It was a grand time at Crestview Elementary as first-grade students celebrated Grandparents Day with a festive Tea Party. First-grade classes honored their grandparents, and even a few great-grandparents, with a little entertainment, a few snacks, games, and gifts.

The student's faces lit up when they saw their special guests walk through their classroom door. Poems, songs, games and fun surprises made it a great day!

Many guests traveled quite the distance to see their grandchildren which made for some shocked faces when the student's realized their loved ones were able to show up. Crestview even had a few fill-in grandparents who were there for children whose grandparents lived in another country, such as in India or Cambodia. Mrs. Coach Conder, retired Crestview PE teacher, and her husband Mr. Conder, were among those precious guests who blessed the kids.

Visitors said they loved seeing the children so full of joy and appreciated the close ties Crestview has with their student's families. What a memorable day for all!
