Frenship Football Looks to Own Their Destiny in Abilene

Senior running back William Bayouth rumbled for 100 yards and 1 touchdown on 13 carries. That’s Bayouth’s second game in a row with over 100 yards on the ground and his third of the season. Defensively it was senior linebacker Jake Gilbert leading the way with 8 tackles on the evening.

Frenship pushed the Rebels early, overcoming some mistakes to trail 21-14 at halftime. A difficult third quarter put the Tigers in a hole but a bright spot late came on a 27-yard touchdown toss from junior quarterback Corbin Gandy to sophomore wide receiver Tate Beeles in his first action of the season. In addition to Bayouth’s strong rushing performance, Tai’ja smith also added 61 yards on 11 carries and Gandy added 31 yards on the ground to 98 through the air.

The Tigers head to Shotwell Stadium to face the Abilene High Eagles (1-4, 1-2) for the first time since a 2014 playoff matchup and only the second time in both school’s history. Frenship holds their destiny in their hands however, with two games to play in the regular season, two victories will earn the Tigers a spot in the playoffs for the second season in a row.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm and the game will be broadcast live on Double T 97.3 FM and Frenship.TV with Keith Patrick and Chois Woodman on the call. Coverage begins at 6:30 pm with the Frenship Football Pregame Show.
