Frenship Boys and Girls Soccer vs Abilene Highlights

Frenship Varsity Boys Soccer Outscored by Abilene High

The Frenship Varsity Boys Soccer team lost to Abilene High, 4-3. The Boys Soccer program has been focusing on confidence and composure in the face of adversity.

The Tigers showed up strong for the first half, leading Abilene High 3-1. Head Boys Soccer Coach, Scott Smith, said the team was showing great confidence and composure, working together well.

However, after half time and some calls against the Tigers, the team was put in a difficult spot. The Eagles rallied and scored three goals in the second half leading the Abilene High Eagles to victory.

“That is our learning curve this year, for sure. We are improving, but we need to remain focused, composed, and confident for the entirety of the game regardless of the scoreboard if we want to achieve the potential, I see that we have,” said Coach Smith.

Frenship Varsity Girls Soccer Shutouts Abilene High

The Tigers traveled to Abilene on Friday, February 5 and defeated the Abilene High Lady Eagles in a shutout 3-0. Three girls found the back of the net—Landrey Rowden, Mia Chambliss, and Alyson Dankereiter.

Head Girls Soccer Coach, Lauren Denning, said, “I thought we connected well, girls followed through on what we had been working on in practice. We created good chances and had some great finishes that we really needed.”

The Frenship Varsity Girls Soccer team is gaining momentum as they continue their journey through District.
