Two FHS students were finalists in this year’s competition: Freshman Trinity Harding qualified for her Principles of Finance Role Play and test, and junior Gavin Latham qualified for his Integrated Marketing Campaign, writing a 10 page paper about how a new app helps busy people schedule their events and appointments.

Latham said he is grateful to DECA for allowing him to gain presentation experience and confidence.

“DECA gives students the skills and experience needed to be successful in the business world,” Latham said. “DECA has helped me to perform more positively when giving presentations or pitches. I have found that I have become more confident and surer of myself when preparing presentations or large projects.”

Additionally, FHS junior Daniel Ramirez earned the great honor of being selected to represent Frenship as a DECA officer for the District. He will oversee competitive events and will keep the Frenship DECA chapter informed of any important decisions made at the state level.

Other events included role plays concerning real life business situations, research papers, business, marketing, finance testing, and presentations.

Texas DECA is the most competitive chapter across the country with over 14,000 students competing for a spot at nationals. Frenship’s DECA Chapter is the largest in the state out of 250 other chapters.
