Bi-District Playoff Information: Frenship will play El Paso Eastwood in the Bi-District Championship in Monohans May 5-6. Game one will kick off on May 5 at 7 p.m. Game two is scheduled for May 6 at 11 a.m. and will be streamed live by Frenship.TV. If a third game is needed, the Tigers will play 30 minutes after game two finishes.
San Angelo Central Series Recap:
During the last series of district play, the Tigers celebrated senior night by winning all three games against San Angelo Central.
Game 1: Frenship stole the lead late in the game in a 4-1 victory. The game was tied at one with Frenship batting in the top of the sixth when Brooks Roberson tripled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Nick Blevins got the win for the Tigers and went seven innings, allowing one run on four hits and striking out six. Ethan Curbo led Frenship with three hits in three at bats. Frenship was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Hudson Hutcheson made the most plays with six.
Game 2: The Tigers came out on top 8-3 against the Bobcats in game two of the series. In the bottom of the first inning, Frenship tied things up at one. H. Hutcheson singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.The Tigers pulled away for good with one run in the third inning. In the third Brady Boles singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. The Tigers tallied four runs in the fourth inning. The rally was led by a triple by H. Hutcheson and a sacrifice fly by Landon Hutcheson.
Ryland Morin was the winning pitcher for Frenship and went four innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out five. Nano Mendoza, Weston Reynolds, and Braxton all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory. Frenship had 11 hits on the day. H. Hutcheson, L. Hutcheson, Mendoza, and Holden Phillips each had multiple hits for Frenship.
Game 3: The Tigers defeated the Bobcats 13-0 on Saturday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Landon Hutcheson struck out Bryson Sanders to finish off the game. The Tigers secured the victory thanks to nine runs in the first inning. The offensive onslaught was led by H. Hutcheson, Roberson, Phillips, Mendoza, and L. Hutcheson, who all drove in runs.
Roberson pitched the Tigers to victory and went three innings, allowing zero runs on three hits, striking out six and walking one. Hutcheson and Zane Cobb entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
The Tigers smacked two home runs on the day with Hutcheson in the third inning and Mendoza in the fourth. The Tigers tallied 12 hits on the day.
