Girls Basketball Named Bi-District Champions

Success for the Frenship High School Girls Basketball team can be defined as more than just winning games; it encompasses growth, teamwork, resiliency, and humility. It’s evident how through this season the Tigers have learned from losses, celebrated victories, all while embodying sportsmanship and dedication on and off the court.

After a shutout game against Pebble Hills on Tuesday, February 13, the Tigers now advance to the Area Playoffs against Crowley High School this Friday, February 16.

Girls Head Basketball Coach, Trent Hilliard, is happy with how the Tigers acted early on in the game bringing them to an 80-35 victory over Pebble Hills.

“We got off to a great start and led 20-4 after the first quarter,” said Coach Hilliard. “Our defense forced Pebble Hills to settle for long three-point attempts and they hit only 7 of 39 and 5 of those came in the 4th quarter when the game was well in hand. We did a great job of taking care of the basketball with only 4 turnovers the entire game.”

Coach Hilliard is prepping the team for the Area Playoff game where the Tigers will need to take a different approach to drive to the basket.

“Crowley will be a different test as they are very athletic and want to attack the basket. We will have to limit their looks inside and make sure we only allow one shot,” said Coach Hilliard.
