Tiger Football Beats El Paso Andress 30-14


Frenship put in their most complete game of the early season with major contributions from both the offense and defense as well as the special teams and came away with an impressive 30-14 victory over El Paso Andress on a rainy and windy Friday night in Hobbs, New Mexico.

The Tiger defense held AHS scoreless in the second half and limited the Eagles to only 91 rushing yards and 223 total yards of offense on the night. The D also scored their first touchdown of the year courtesy a Christian Kiser 40-yard interception return in the first quarter.

The offense managed a season-high 231 yards rushing and punched in two second half scores to help the Tigers pull away after intermission. Freshman quarterback Jess Hoel led the Tigers in rushing with 94 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries. Cooper Scott added his first rushing touchdown of the year, a 16-yard run to give FHS a 23-14 lead late in the third quarter.

Drew Hocutt was the top receiver with five receptions for 79 yards.

Cage Jones added his first three field goals of the season with makes from 31, 31 and 30 yards.

After two consecutive games away from home, the Tigers (2-2) return to Peoples Bank Stadium this Friday versus Canyon Randall. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
