As a passionate and dedicated educator and leader, fifth grade Dual Language teacher Robert Nunez was selected as Frenship's nomination for the 2021 LCU Distinguished Educator of Lubbock County award.

For the first time in almost twenty-five years, Frenship Cross-Country is sending a female runner to the state meet. Freshman athlete, Faith Zint, is ready for the challenge ahead in Round Rock, TX on Tuesday, November 24.

Lorrie Crain, Virtual Learning teacher at Westwind Elementary, has made it her priority to keep her students stay engaged and connected. When the school year began, she wanted her students to get to know each other the same way they would in a face-to-face setting.

First Grade students at North Ridge learned about Native American culture by reading The Legend of the Indian Paintbrush by Tomie dePaola.

For the second year in a row, a Frenship elementary student is headed to the National Spanish Spelling Bee. Over the weekend, Willow Bend Elementary fifth grader Sara Patino took home first place in the Lubbock Spanish Spelling Bee Championship, securing a spot at the national competition hosted in Denver, Colorado in July 2021.

Earlier this week, Stephani Campbell, Behavior Intervention Specialist, sent out a newsletter to teachers and staff with useful tips on dealing with holiday behaviors in the classroom. The newsletter was full of ways to keep students engaged as well as resources for teachers to use for additional assistance.

The City of Lubbock Solid Waste: Recycle Lubbock program donated reading books to North Ridge first graders, as well as activity books, book marks and stickers to students, and reusable cutlery to teachers and staff last Monday to celebrate America Recycles Day on November 15.

Students at Upland Heights were sent home with paper leaves last week to write something they are thankful for on. When they brought the leaves back to school, teachers placed the leaves on the Thankful Tree.

Frenship Tiger Girls Basketball opened their season Friday, November 6 up I-27 against the Canyon Randall Raiders.

On Wednesday, November 11, National Signing Day, eleven FHS student athletes signed their National Letters of Intent to play collegiate athletics.
