The state-ranked Frenship Tiger baseball team finished off a 2018 sweep of Odessa Permian last week with two more victories against the Panthers.

Friday night’s softball thriller for Frenship may not exactly align with David versus Goliath, but a few big strikes by the underdog Tigers took down the previously untarnished and state-ranked Permian Lady Panthers.

You can officially call them the 2018 version of the Cardiac Kids. You can also call them Regional Tournament bound for the first time in program history.

The Frenship softball team opened up the 2018 season with five victories in six games during the Caprice Tournament last weekend in Lubbock.

Aryal Garcia, Brogan Ross, Carmen Cervantez and Shadi Haney each scored a goal, and the Tiger defense did not allow any shots on goal by Midland Lee the entire game during a 4-0 shutout Friday night.
