2025-2026 Approved District Calendar
(Current School Year)
The State of Texas requires school districts to have a minimum of 75,600 instructional minutes on their district calendar. Each year, Frenship ISD creates a district calendar that includes extra instructional minutes in the event school must be canceled or delayed for circumstances such as bad weather.
Due to these extra built-in minutes for the current school year, Frenship students will not be required to make up the instructional minutes for the recent weather cancelations on January 23, 26, and 27 or the delayed start on January 28.
The extra minutes cover these missed days in January, and students will not have to come to school on the designated “Weather Day” on April 3, 2026. This will remain a day off.

2026-2027 Approved District Calendar
(Next School Year)
The Calendar Committee is made up of approximately 40 people and includes teachers/staff from all 16 campuses, nearly a dozen parents with students in elementary, middle school, and high school, and district administrators from various departments. Each group brings their own unique perspective and input that is crucial to the calendar process.
Through collaboration between these parents, staff, and administrators, the Frenship ISD Calendar Committee developed two calendar drafts for the 2026-2027 school year that were pushed out to the public in a survey. The data from the survey was used by the committee to make a recommendation to the school board for approval.
After careful consideration based on feedback and survey results, and in-depth discussions by the Calendar Committee, the Board of Trustees approved the 2026-2027 District Calendar (Draft A) as recommended by the Calendar Committee on February 18, 2026.
