Frenship Unified Track Places Top 5 at State Competition

For the fourth consecutive year, the Frenship Unified Track Team traveled to Austin to compete at the State Unified Track Meet. This year, the Tigers placed 5th overall, an achievement that highlights the team’s dedication, resilience, and unified spirit.

“Placing fifth at the State competition is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our athletes and partners,” said Unified Track Coach Kayci Smith. “It’s more than just a placement—it’s a celebration of unity, perseverance, and the joy of competing together. The team stayed true to themselves and fought so hard.”

Despite unpredictable weather and lightning delays, the Tigers delivered outstanding performances across the board, achieving personal records in nearly every event.

“Words cannot express how proud I am of this team. Watching each athlete grow in confidence, skill, and camaraderie has been the most rewarding part. The way they support and celebrate one another truly embodies the spirit of Unified Sports,” said Coach Smith.

When asked to describe the team in one word, Coach Smith said, “Unstoppable. This team faced every challenge with determination and heart, proving that nothing could stand in their way.”

As she reflects on the team’s tremendous growth throughout the season, she feels joyful watching the powerful bonds formed through Unified Sports.

“Watching our athletes and partners cheer each other on with unwavering enthusiasm always brings me so much joy. It’s about more than competition; it’s about connection and belonging,” said Coach Smith.

Coach Smith also gave heartfelt thanks to the many supporters who have made the Unified program possible.

“I’d like to give a special shoutout to our school, admin team, RENT-LBK for our meet shirts, and our amazing community. To our seniors who helped build Frenship Unified from the ground up, thank you for your leadership and legacy.”
