Frenship Art Students Shine with 12 State VASE Qualifiers

This year’s regional event featured 427 judged works of art from across Region 17. From those entries, 41 pieces advanced to the State VASE competition. Frenship High School earned nine of those state qualifications, which is an impressive accomplishment in an extremely competitive field. When combined with three additional state qualifiers from Frenship Memorial High School, Frenship ISD will be strongly represented at the state level.

The VASE process is known for its rigor. Students must submit original artwork along with documentation of their creative process, including research, planning, and preliminary sketches. During judging, each student participates in an individual interview, explaining their artistic choices and the development of their piece. Only the top works from each division advance.

Below are the state qualifiers:

Division 4

  • Madelynn Van Hoose
  • Brianna Hart
  • Noah Cabrera

Division 3

  • Adelynn Barbre
  • Iridice Martinez
  • Gabriella (Jordan) Matraia

Division 2

  • Harper Bailey

Division 1

  • Rosalie Carter
  • Alleigh Denning
  • Jadyne Perez-Pringler
  • Ethan Mojica
  • Gracelyn Massie

These students will compete at the State VASE competition later this spring, representing Frenship with creativity, dedication, and artistic excellence.
