In FFA, there is no off-season. As stock shows come to a close, members shift their learning into the Career Development Events (CDE) season, where classroom knowledge is put into practice through hands-on competition. These events are designed to challenge students’ technical knowledge, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, all while helping answer the question: “When will I use this in the real world?”
Texas FFA State CDEs were hosted across the state in late April and early May, providing students from all over the opportunity to compete at the highest level. Frenship ISD was well represented, with teams from both Frenship High School and Memorial High School qualifying and competing against top chapters statewide.
Frenship High School FFA saw strong performances across multiple events, including a third-place finish in Marketing Plan and an eighth-place finish in Veterinary Science. Memorial High School FFA teams also demonstrated their preparation and dedication in their inaugural year, highlighted by an eighth-place finish in Farm Business Management and a ninth-place finish in Marketing Plan.
Through each competition, students applied their learning in meaningful ways, gaining valuable experience that extends beyond the classroom. The success of these teams reflects not only their hard work, but also the continued commitment to agricultural education and student growth across Frenship ISD.
