The Frenship ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved the 2018-19 school calendar Monday night during their monthly meeting at the Casey Administration Building.

More than 1,000 elementary and middle school students competed in the Get Excited About Robotics (GEAR) competition Saturday, April 14 which is an eight-week LEGO robotics challenge for students in grades kindergarten through eighth grade.

Families were greeted with some friendly cowfolk (teachers) and guided to the mini-chuckwagon (trail mix station) where they enjoyed creating their own s’more trail mix to take on a hike. They hiked toward a campsite, where tents were set up all around the gym and camped with a small group. Inside the tents, young and old listened to cowfolk read them stories.

Second grade students at Crestview Elementary learned best practices in safety for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists at the city of Lubbock’s Safety City last week. They also learned all about fire prevention and the best plan of action if a fire occurs in their home.

Students and parents of Legacy Elementary enjoyed a successful Family Reading Night last week that included a book fair, a narration from a guest author, a presentation by a guest speaker and snacks.

Twenty-two Frenship Middle School students in the Texas Future Problem Solving Program attended the State Bowl competition last weekend in San Marcos, Texas. FMS had a strong showing earning first place in three of the four divisions in which they entered.

The state-ranked Frenship Tiger baseball team finished off a 2018 sweep of Odessa Permian last week with two more victories against the Panthers.

In an effort to broaden the horizons of students, Reese Education Center hosted a Career Fair with representatives from major medical systems, restaurants, branches of the military, and more.
