April is Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month!
 
In 2020, there were 962 victims of child abuse or neglect in Lubbock County. 525 of those were under the age of 5. Many other victims exist but go unreported each day. Listed below are ways to help recognize the warning signs of Child Abuse, information on how to report abuse, and resources for parents, families and community members.

Texas Abuse Hotline Website  - You can use this website to report situations that DO NOT need to be investigated right away.
 
Texas Abuse Hotline Number: 1-800-252-5400 - This Hotline can be used if the situation is urgent and needs to be investigated within 24 hours.  Call 911 or local law enforcement if emergency or life-threatening situation.
Identifying Child Abuse
 
The first step in helping abused or neglected children is learning to recognize the signs of child abuse and neglect.
