Uploaded Sep 11, 2020Based on community input and expert studies on Frenship's growth, the Frenship Board of Trustees approved the call for a November 3, 2020 bond election to address the rapid growth. More than 90% of the proposed $299.7 million bond is currently dedicated to building additional schools and renovating existing facilities to accommodate increased student enrollment. Uploaded Aug 18, 2020In 2018 Frenship piloted a Texas Externship Program with BGR Architects and the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance (LEDA) as partners. Fifty-seven Frenship teachers spent three days over the summer embedded with an employer of interest to them. They brought real-world experiences, application of job-ready skills, and new perspectives about the workplace back to their classrooms and their students.
Following Frenship's pilot program, Workforce Solutions South Plains and LEDA secured significant grant funding to send over 150 teachers from across the Lubbock area to externships in the summer of 2019. Frenship is proud to be on the leading edge of professional development on the South Plains and will continue to commit to providing its teachers with the most dynamic and innovative opportunities for their professional growth.
