The 80th Texas Legislature passed Senate Bill 7, which relates to instruction in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the availability and use of automated external defibrillators at public school campuses and certain athletic events.
The bill requires the following:

School districts shall annually make CPR and AED training available to employees.

All coaches, nurses, PE teachers, band directors, cheerleader sponsors, and student trainers maintain current certification in CPR and AED.

The State Board of Education is to add elements related to CPR and AED training in TEKS for the Health Curriculum.

At least 1 AED must be located on every campus (including elementary, junior high and high school).

The campus AED must be readily available during any UIL athletic contest on campus, and a determination made (in cooperation with UIL) the extent to which an AED must be available at UIL athletic activities held at locations other than the school campus

Schools must make reasonable effort (in cooperation with UIL) to ensure that an AED is available at each UIL practice held at a district campus. If the school cannot provide an AED at every practice, the school must determine (in cooperation with UIL) to what extent the campus AED must be available at each practice.

Schools are required to develop safety procedures to follow in responding to a medical emergency involving cardiac arrest, including appropriate response time for CPR and use of AED.
Frenship ISD has added additional requirements for FISD employees and facilities. They are:

All coaches, nurses, PE teachers, band & choir directors, cheerleader/dance sponsors, student trainers and all District & Campus Emergency Response Team members are trained in CPR and AED use. This training is provided by the Frenship ISD nurses.

Each elementary has an AED located by the campus front office.

Each Middle School has an AED located by the campus front office and an AED located in the vicinity of the gyms.

The Frenship Middle School Field House has an AED located inside the main entrance.

Frenship High School has AED's located by both main offices, between the band hall & the PAC and by the Tiger Pit.

The Frenship ISD Athletic Facility has AED's located by the North entrance and the South entrance.
