Planning Our Future

Designated as one of the fastest growing school districts in Texas, Frenship ISD welcomes hundreds of new students each year. Since 2011, Frenship has gained more than 2,500 students, and the District now has more than 10,300 students spread across 14 campuses in Lubbock and Wolfforth. According to experts and demographic studies, those numbers will continue to quickly climb over the next decade with Frenship High School and Terra Vista Middle School expected to reach capacity in 2023.

For years, Frenship has been preparing for this rapid growth. This process began years ago with the creation of the Frenship Strategic Plan that includes positively seeking innovative solutions to address current and future growth while honoring Frenship's rich tradition of excellence. A Long Range Planning Committee was also formed in the Fall of 2019 to help guide the District in the decision making process. (See more in 'Planning Process')

Based on community input and expert studies on Frenship's growth, the Frenship Board of Trustees unanimously approved the call for a May 2, 2020 bond election to address the rapid growth. More than 90% of the proposed $299.7 million bond is dedicated to building additional schools and renovating existing facilities to accommodate increased student enrollment. This includes the construction of a second high school, a fourth middle school and a ninth elementary. (Click for breakdown of proposed bond projects)

Over the next several months, we encourage you to take a look at the information provided on this website including the proposed bond package breakdown, Frenship growth statistics, frequently asked questions and other facts we have listed.

Frenship was built on a rich tradition of excellence where students attain great achievements. We will continue that tradition as we welcome the growth and new families to Frenship. Frenship's Strategic Plan states: Frenship will create a thriving environment where learners maximize their potential and emerge as empowered, equipped, and diverse leaders who engage and collaborate to positively impact communities. That will remain a constant as we grow and continue to "Seek Perfection - Capture Excellence".
