Video provided by Lee Lewis Construction
Based on demographic studies, Frenship High School is expected to reach capacity in 2023. This bond includes the construction of a second, comprehensive high school that would serve 2,500 students. Frenship Memorial High School is scheduled to open in the Fall of 2025.

As of the 2023-2024 school year, Frenship ISD has more than 11,500 students across the district with nearly 3,300 high school students in 9-12 grade currently enrolled at FHS and the Ninth Grade Center.

Frenship Memorial High School will have the same academic and extracurricular opportunities as Frenship High School. Shared facilities between Frenship Memorial High School and Frenship High School include Peoples Bank Stadium and the Agricultural facilities.

With the opening of Frenship Memorial High School, the current Ninth Grade Center campus will no longer be needed to house ninth grade students and will be re-purposed to serve as the new Frenship Middle School campus.

Naming Frenship Memorial High School
Naming new schools is a big decision and Frenship ISD believes it is important to include our staff, students, parents, and community in the decision-making process. To help with this historic decision of naming our second high school, Frenship ISD opened a public survey and received more than 1,700 name submissions. During the January 18, 2024, school board meeting, the Frenship ISD Board of Trustees approved one the name submissions, Frenship Memorial High School, as the name of the second high school.

Naming Timeline:
  • November 13-30, 2023 - Public survey for Frenship parents, students, staff, and community members to submit a name for the second high school
  • December 2023 - Top name nominations were reviewed by District administrators and Board of Trustees
  • January 18, 2024 - The Board of Trustees voted and approved the name: Frenship Memorial High School
